IPL Photorejuvenation treats redness of vascular origin
(including symptoms of rosacea) and the brown-toned pigment
of sun damage, while the therapeutic light energy reaches
deeper to the level of the collagen. Skin improves with
an even-colored tone, smaller pore size, smoother texture
and a more youthful, rejuvenated look.
A Photorejuvenation program consists
of five (5) treatments, three weeks apart. Each treatment
treats the entire face. Treatments usually take 20-30 minutes
and the discomfort is minimal and well-tolerated. The light
is transmitted through a small, smooth, flat glass surface.
The hand-piece is held gently against your skin by the operator.
It gives a smooth, evenly-colored look and a youthful complexion.
Patients can return to work or other activities immediately.
Results are long lasting. In most cases, additional treatments
are not needed. Maintenance treatment three months apart
are occasionally required.
Freckles and sun damage spots may turn dark briefly in
the days following treatment in the process of resolving.
The darker areas will typically flake off in 7-10 days.
The treatments may cause temporary redness, edema, bruises,
or other color changes. These are easily covered with make-up,
if necessary.
Photorejuvenation can be effectively used on other areas
such as the neck, hands and the chest. |
